Endowed Scholarships created at Ohio Wesleyan University
In honor of Doug Cherry and Ted Luckett, OWU Friends Fund has created endowed scholarships in their names at Ohio Wesleyan. Beginning with academic year 2003-2004, each scholarship will be awarded annually. The scholarship recipients are selected using criteria agreed upon by the Cherry and Luckett families. These students will best exemplify the character, passion and values of Doug and Ted. It is our hope, through our continuous fund-raising efforts that eventually each scholarship will cover a full year's tuition for the recipients. Our goal is to raise $1 million by 2015. Through you, and with the support of so many others, the spirit of these two remarkable men will live on. As we continue our fund-raising efforts, we will celebrate the lives of those we loved and lost and the friendships we continue to share.
Permanently Endowed funds as of January 2005: $100,000
Endowment: Established at OWU by OWU Friends Fund summer 2003. With a current balance of $100,00 the guaranteed interest of 5% generates $5,000 annually toward scholarships. The more we add to the endowment, the greater the value of the scholarships.
